How to Measure Your Wall for Your DIY Paneling Moulding Kit 

Let’s get into it! 

Measuring your wall is the first step to planning your new feature wall. Don’t worry — it’s easy! Just follow these steps:

What you’ll need:

• Tape measure
• Pencil
• Paper (or our measurement sheet)
• A ruler or straight edge

Step 1 – Measure the Width

Start at one end of your wall and measure all the way across to the other end. Write this number down (in millimetres or centimetres for accuracy).

Step 2 – Measure the Height

Now measure from the floor to the ceiling (or to the bottom of the cornice if you have one). Write this down too.

Step 3 – Check for Obstacles

Look for anything on the wall that might affect your design (like power points, windows, or doors). Note their position and size on your paper.

Step 4 – Decide Your Layout

Using your wall measurements, sketch a rough outline of your wall on paper. Then start planning where you’d like your panels to go. Our set-out sheet will guide you with standard spacing so you get the Hamptons look.

Step 5 – Double Check

Go over your measurements one more time to make sure nothing is missed. Accurate measurements will make your installation smooth and stress-free.

How to install: *Installation Instructions included in your purchase*

First you will need some tools 

·  Soft cloth + multi-purpose cleaner

·  Ruler / tape measure

·  1 x large level or Laser Level

·  Pencil

·  Gap filler/caulk + caulking gun (for a paint ready finish)

·  1 x small set of steps 

·  Paint + Primer (for final look)

The recommended installation sequence is designed to give you a clean, 

professional finish, even if it’s your first time doing wall molding.

Here’s the ideal order:

• Walls must be clean. Clean with multi-purpose surface cleaner

•  Make sure the area is dry before you install
  
• Plan the layout using painter’s tape or a laser level
  
• Install the moulding pieces using peel-and-stick backing
  
• Seal the edges with caulk after everything is firmly in place
  
• Let the caulk dry, then apply paint as the final step
  
• Painting after caulking is key — it hides small imperfections, fills gaps, and gives the entire wall a seamless, finished look. For best results, apply two coats of paint
